All in the family at JHS 189 in Flushing

Staffers at Junior High School 189 say there must be something in the water. Two alums who attended the Flushing middle school as adolescents returned as staffers this month, bringing the total number of graduates now working at the school up to five. JHS 189 also boasts three married couples who met while teaching there.

The deafening silence on test cheating

Nobody was particularly surprised when the D.C. Inspector General’s Office, after a 17-month investigation into allegations of widespread cheating on standardized tests in D.C. public schools, issued a new report which concluded that the suspicions were unfounded.
